Canon has literally been giving stuff away with exception of ink................I'm buying my son a new 70D for Xmas and he wants to wait til Canon has another combo deal that includes a printer.........I'm sure something will pop up soon along with more paper deals.
We also double up with the...
To all of you that helped me here and replied via PM i want to thank you.
The update to this is really deserving of praise for Canon as they stepped up and sent a replacement, along with 2 sets of ink.
The good news here is that the first set, and replacement set of inks print the same, but the...
Thx Ruben,
i've been away til now and have gone ahead and with your suggestion on the kit.
My main printer which is used offline only is winXP so the spyder is my best option.
I'd have gone with colormunki but it's not going to work on XP.
Up to now i have been using Monaco with the old tried...
Thx.
Qimage is what i am going to use as i have had great results in the past.
Just upgraded to latest version.
My goal in all this was to get my son started in printing his images instead of being a pixel peeper and using the local drug store for his prints.
I told him that the concerns he has...
Yes both printers are on the OEM ink with the exception of the Pro-100 which we did the PC yellow as Brian had suggested to avoid any crossover issues later when it is switched over to PC ink all the way.
Myself personally am very happy with the Pro-100.
To do a comparison we printed from the...
hey gang,
first let me say that having been printing off and on for the last 10 years i understand the need for screen calibration and have done so, and i do not get to crazy with "exact match" in my prints other than to be as close as what i call eye appealing.
My old I900D gave me great...
just bought some 8.5x11........200 sheets for just over 13 bucks........

Peter,
The method you described worked perfectly:ya
The printhead is within what i would call tolerance to produce photo prints again. After 2 days of soaking in Pharmacists solution it showed immediate improvement. It still has a fine line that seems to go on/off/on (Magenta) again., and...
Of course i know everything:tongue:yuckyuck............that's why i came here too so i could make sure you knew that:gig
On a reality note though, your input has intrigued me to try a bit harder................only reason i mention the new printhead was so i could keep the printer in operation...
Thx Brian............I'm now using the printer to replace an HP for document printing.
I've done a couple overnight soakings, but will try it with your time advice....................the only option to a new head which is more than the printer is worth is the refurb's from China.
Rather than start a new thread, i am posting here for input from you all. Or those who can make heads or tails of my nozzle check image which is not very good as i only have a scanner for my office that is used for documents.
Anyways, it is from the i900D that i have not been so kind to in it's...
As i may not be able to print everyweek i am going to give this method a go.
I've bought a few extra heads, but really think this advice may be worth a try instead of burning thru spares.
Once i run through this i'll report back..........thx
my earlier post here has been edited........it was a deal on a 100 unit that a seller has now relisted with shipping option that makes it a not so good deal.........sorry everyone.:th
That's the thing Brian,
i'm kind of embarrassed that we can enjoy the purchase, or the ravaging of the market here so easily while the other half of the majority in the world is treated so poorly.
Canon, you need to wake up and smell the ink sales here and make this offer worldwide.
Well that's...
