Hi guys,

I'm very hapy to see lots of interest hanging around Pro-1 last weeks. To support your efforts I can report some of my experiences:

1) my Pro-1 goes to service mode without troubles (I entered it many times) and it does so even after firmware upgrade to the latest one - there is clearly no problem with the latest firmware, it does not block service mode at all. I use service tool v3400 and I always run the tool "As Administrator" to be sure that Windows does not block the software in any way

2) attachment of the waste ink tank (having the guideline from The Hat - thank you Brian once more) has been done without any single issue

3) I even tried (just to get little bit of adrenalin) replacement of the 3Volt lithium RTC backup battery when the printer was connected to wall socket - again no problems here

Now waiting for the chips to be available from Mike, then of course inks from Mike and we are ready to go...:weee

All of them! LOL
Have you guys seen the "New" style of Chinese PGI-29 compatibles?

There doesn't seem to be a Light Pipe to conduct the red recognition light from the Chip to the Front of the cart!!!
And what's with those grooves on the tops.

Oh and the company I was getting chips from no longer carries them!!!!
What Happened?
Mike I hope you got a ton of them!

Joe

Not to worry. My source for the chips are different. Yes, I have a good few sets and can still get more.
The tunnel/groove is a cost reduction measure. If you look hard, you'll see light at the end of the tunnel I guess.

Here is the type of compatible carts from China that I used, note the reflector for the LED light on the chip.

There is still plenty of places to get PGI-29 chips from: -

The page is up finally and there is the Baker's Dozen explained in case some people don't know what a baker's dozen was.

I can tell you that dried up CLI-42 carts are not easy to flush. Took a lot longer than I thought it would hence the delay in getting the page up. Sorry about the delay in case you were waiting.
