LOL I printed out the whole manual and these happen to be extras I did it over the summer to do the head gaskets fun :)

Well I just printed out 36 full page pictures and PM is pretty much empty now glad to have my printer up and running.. just to think I was so close yesterday thinking it was done..

Now the only thing that bothers me... I was using my left over matte paper but near the end you can hear the head scraping on the paper.. how can I stop this?

There are a number of reasons why the print head would be touching your paper but the obviously one is paper curl.
Try printing the paper on the opposite side and see if that cures that problem for you.

The best test that you can do is a nozzle check on one side of your paper only and that will give you all the information
youll need as to whether any of your nozzles are still blocked..

At first not at all it's a 97 outback with 233,000 miles The phase I EJ25D was known for headgaskets that failed internal I did it all in a week while on vacation.

the paper is brand new just opened the package it's been doing it for awhile but it's not really a big deal just annoying to hear it.

It certainly ain't like a head gasket on a Cavalier or an old chev v8. Not even looking forward to the timing belt change in a year or two on mine!

A little late reply but I'm trying to decide now, the link you have wont I need empty carts? I used to use a system like that some 5 years ago with my i960 and I refilled them with media street ink..

However I was thinking about doing a CIS system because I'm printing some 50 color 8x11 pages and the carts I have now (non OEM) while cheap it's getting hard to find for the i960..

on the other hand I was looking at the Epson artisan 730 with a CIS.. I don't know what I should do.. nothing is wrong with my i960 and it still works fine for what I use it for.

Yes, you will need carts. Either buy new Canon carts at Staples (or equal), or set up an automatic search on eBay for "empty bci6" like I did and buy what you need. There are other alternatives as well, BUT STICK WITH CANON OEM CARTS!

What happened to the carts you used to use? They can be flushed and re-used as well.

Those are long gone.. I have 2 sets of used non OEM carts but deciding if I want to refill or buy a epson artisan 730 and use a CIS system since doing 100 borderless 8x11's is going to suck a lot of ink.
