I'll have faith that there will be a solution to this in Jan-Feb 2014, barring new chips. I'll try to work my Pro-100 down in the next couple days to trigger the optical warning as I thought it did before. If it triggers, the key element of the optical sensor working is intact.

Roy, there is way to get the deal for the Pro-100 with paper, printhead and new carts for $59. It involves getting someone in the USA/ friend relative to accept delivery of the printer deal. You fill out the forms and related billing, send them the rebate forms signed, they cut out the UPC codes/ serial number from the box, and mail the rebate. When they receive the rebate card , they can send it up to you together with cartridges, paper if you need more...bulky maybe leave behind , and printhead. The rebate in the American Express debit card is accepted in online purchases just like a credit card so you can use it even from Canada.

The rest, sadly, will need to be dumped or donated.

Was $59 before when someone informed me of it. Back to the sky high $98 now. The clock ticks.

All of them! LOL
Ok guys, I think I can put this ink monitoring problem to rest, at least on my Non DIMed PRO-100.

I am just about finished printing another bunch of 13 x 19 prints and all seems to be behaving normal. Ink levels are being displayed as intended.

Thanks Joe for confirming that.
Now we know not to DIM the chips if you want perfect ink monitoring going forwards..:clap

Roy what I said was:-
“that everything is still working as near normal
and you can still use your printer in complete safety,”

What I meant by near normal was when you "DIM" your chips they then worked but not quite as they did before, in other words as near normal as possible and had you not done this then your printer would be working NORMAL (Not near normal).

The fact you had to DIM your cartridges to enable you to continue printing before the availability of the new resetter is unfortunate, but now armed with the redsetter you have regained your independence and ink monitoring once more so everything is back working properly again.

If you reset the DIM cartridges, refill them and use as NORMAL then when you get the Low ink warning (Yellow triangle), you repeat this process again, the fact that you’re ink levels are not visually accrete is something you’ll get use to time.

Jtoolman wisely waited for the redsetter to become available before running down his cartridges and that turned out to be the right decision for him, and now he can enjoy using his printer without the annoying hiccups caused by the DIM cartridges.

I am not in disagreement with you but I’m merely pointing out that it’s a hiccup that is easily overcome and it won’t interfere with the Normal day to day running, pleasure and enjoyment of your printer.

To test out your new firmware try running your printer again without ink monitoring enabled and you’ll then see the difference in how your printer will react to not having the proper ink controls..

Agree with everything you say Hat.

Re-reading my previous post I regret that it appeared unintentionally terse. I often have that problem with computer communications, and also why I rarely attempt humour or irony in computer communication. It usually comes out all wrong and leads to misunderstanding.

Thanks for info Joe, and it is good to know.

My first regular (not DIM) reset cartridge is still too full to judge, but at least your tests give me reason to hope all will be normal.

So my routine now will be to wait till one cart hits to yellow "!" and at that point I reset all the carts and top them all off. Until I can get a second set of either new carts or empties from someone who does not refill ( There are a few folks out there ) I will have to reset and refill quickly as the PRO-100 will not sit there with the carriage in the ink change position for to many minutes. Using Squeeze Bottles / Needles does help to expedite the process.
