Poor print quality MG5310/Inktec

Hello, a few days ago I wrote a post about ink brands (ocp, inktec..). I decided to buy inktec inks for now.. because is more easy to get in my city.

With some troubles with the ciss(bubbles or air) , but finally works..

But.. when I send to print images like drawings, graphics or something else that not require full quality. works fine.. with enough quality.


When I send photo images to print I've poor quality on any type of paper,


I used paper canon glossy with and without profile canon driver, generic paper with gloss and matte,

with printer management color and photoshop management (better result with PS)..

and always same result.. sometimes a little better..

I did printhead aligment, cleaning, print test sheet..

What can I do?.. what could be wrong?

You could have any number of things wrong but with the little information you have provided it would be hard to tell with any accuracy.

Which O/S are you using and what printer setting are you using to print on the glossy paper, because it very much looks like your double profiling somehow and everything is gone wrong.

Try downloading this photo and don’t do any changes to it then reset your printer back to default and just use the media setting of glossy paper and let the printer do the rest, now see how that turns out compared to the original.. http://www.outbackphoto.com/printinginsights/pi048/essay.html

I use canon photo paper gloss II. oem, with the side more white to print.. ( I've tested both sides in my despair).

You have to select Color-Manual and hit Set. In the second tab select "None".

I made all changes, reset the printer settings, I don't have more canon photo paper. I used another brand with equals features for testing with much much better results.

All settings are exactly the same as before (using reset..) only two things have changed:

the paper.. and disable/enable: colour/intense.

I printed with both settings and works fine .. with color/intense in auto the colors are more intense,


then I printed again using 'Color/intense - / Manual/ Set - None' and the colors are less intense, even more blue and gray in all the picture.. like if the image haven't vivid colors.


Now viewing the results must be enable auto or enable manual with none?

For now.. issue solved. How?.. I don't know all settings are equals, only thing different is the paper.

Could be the paper or what thing?..

One last question, I saw the test sheet after making printhead alignment, the lines and color are not exactly same with ink oem vs inktec (I understand is not oem.. but is a big difference), with inktec some lines have noise and color mix of blue/green. canon ink are more clear blue color and without noise..

Is there solution to correct color and remove the noise? does not affect when print normal photos? It was a test sheet with printhead alignment auto mode.

As blue is made from printing both cyan and magenta, it looks to me like cyan is too strong and/or magenta is too weak in the inktec inks. You could try another brand of refill ink, like Image Specialists, that is preferred by many members. Link here: http://www.precisioncolors.com/C5Cb.html

I did another test directly from printer, not under Windows and there was no change in colour.. blue / green.

I recently buyed ink of inktec (5 Lts).. maybe in some months I'll try to buy IS,..

Okay, I read the post, very interesting, I've another pc with Windows XP for testing,..

is it possible to adjust the colour using custom settings in the tab 'Color Adjustment' ?

if the answer is yes, which colour must be changed?, just reduce a little cyan colour?..

Note: When the test sheet is printing the cyan colour is clear.. nearly to oem ink in the first and second pass, on the third and fourth pass turned blue / green, the printer makes three or four times per line.

When arrive at home I'll upload a image with some lines of color with one pass..

Any suggestions are welcome.
