Can't see any there for the ip8750, when I do a search I only get Canons carts and no Peach.

Just fired an Email off to them, let you know the result.

Just had reply from Peach Switzerland, saying they do not do inks for the Canon iP8750, due to a Canon update. I can only guess this would be firmware, I can only think this causes the printer to print two pages and then 'cartridge not recognized' error.

So we'll have to see how it goes with these 'Picture Expert Premium' tanks.... can't wait to try but still, if this was a problem folks wouldn't be giving them a full star write up.

Bring back the John Bull printing outfit.... "hey, am I showing my age here"? Remember em' them stamps you made with rubber letters and a ink pad?

The IP8750 takes standard PGI550 and CLI551 inks. 1x PGI550 (large blank ink tank) and 5x CLI551 (cyan, Magenta, yellow, photo black and grey) it appears to be the grey they do not sell from my quick search all the rest are available.

Hi CakeHole,
I can only tell you what Peach in Switzerland told me, I looked there and couldn't see any Peach tanks at all for the iP8750 except Canon's OEM, that they went on to say they didn't do any Peach compatible for that model.

The reason they give was because of a Canon update, I can only assume 'firmware' because I read with some Canon printers some 'compatibles' will allow two pages to be printed before giving the 'cartridge not recognized error', I was thinking the reason being on these lines. I can't recall the actual model this was referring to but I'm sure it wasn't the iP8750, the post went on 'it depended on the printers firmware'..... so I kinda' put two and two together here.

Obviously, the write up's wouldn't be so praising if this 'was the case' with these Picture Expert cartridges.

Thanks for your input much appreciated, I just can't wait until I need to try these ink tanks. I really don't like go swapping and changing brands, I was aiming to find some brand I can stick to.

Hi Dave,

@CakeHole is right the 551 carts are pretty much standard right across nearly all of Canon current desktop models and all of these compatibles will work in any model.

There is the usual But here, and this is probably what Peach Switzerland were referring too, owners of these models tend to get sucked into the propaganda that Canon put out about using the latest firmware updates from their website.

So if you are one of these guys who only used the CD for setup and didn’t upgrade your firmware then you need not worry,

You could try this stuff that @Smudger uses, it may not be as good as Peach ink but she reckons it works for her, its cheap and cheerful so it might be useful..

CakeHole is right, they do the CLI-551 tanks but not the gray.

I only searched and inquired for iP8750, I should have searched the tanks number CLI-551.... my bad, why didn't I look properly???

As for the installation I only installed the drivers I had the other utilities from the iP4950 install, the old printer is still here in one piece yet, just might try a load of TLC.... once I get over spending cash!

Thanks all, Dave

Ha! I've stockpiled a year's supply of Go-ink 551 carts. They're fine for non-critical work, though it's early days yet to see if they block the print head. The colour balance is far away from the Canon inks though, but easily dialed out for me.

I've just done a run of A3 fine art prints for a photog, we proofed them on Go-Ink then did the finals on ChromaLife 100+. Sure keeps costs down having two printers with the same print head and carts.

(Apart from the need to buy two printers. But all photographers are Very Rich.)
