Hi all,
first of all the best wishes for a happy printing year to everybody in the forum! :)

It seems that the never ending story of my IP4300 has arrived to the final chapter: just before christmas holidays it throw out an error: Cyclic blinking in Orange and Green 10 times. At first I confused it with a 1310 error (Automated duplex printing), but checkin it again today it is infact an hugly VH monitor error [B200]. :he

In the service manual it quotes as a solution: "Printhead".

Is there any "magic" trick to solve it apart from changing printhead?

Even worst now the head printer is stuck in parking position abd there is no mean to move it sideway to change the printhead, even with power turned off.

Is there a way to solve this further issue?

Hi, @Sherden, All the best in New Year!

Yes, to restore full printing capabilities, a new printhead is a solution (have to remove old printhead first - follow Service Manual to do that, something wit unlocking carriage in order to slide printhead out of parking station).

There are other options with masking some contacts on printhead connector to suppress Error B200, but it costs lost of some printing capabilities, PGBK or all color printing. Or sometimes all things fails, revealing Error U052/1403 instead.

No magic here, just pure understanding of how the printhead works :)

So... when iP4300 will be repaired but with removed printhead, power up it in service mode.
Then put printhead alone without ink tanks, and observe if Error B200 is reported by led lights (10 cyclic blinks of orange and green led).
Try both of maskings posted above, be prepared that none will work.
If certain masking is OK, printer will throw 4 cyclic blinks of orange led.
If U052/1403 is spotted, then will be 5 cyclic blinks of orange led, and it is the end.

Ł.

To remove the print head you will have to remove the printer casing and unlock the print head. This instruction for absorber change for iP4300 and iP5300 from druckerchannel.de shows how. You can use Google translate if you don't read German.

With B200 you have to be aware of not only a damaged PH but a damaged printer.
Because an electrical damage of the PH (what mostly is the final result of burnt nozzles) can damage the mainboard of the printer too. And even worse: the damaged mainboard could kill a new PH very fast - so if possible try it with a used PH...

I tried the test with masked contacts suggested by lukasz but after I enter service mode it keep giving always the same B200 error, no matter if with or without printhead\cartridsges.

The strange thing is that it gives the error even without the printhead (I suppose that without it, the "missing printhead" erroxr should be given instead).

Damaged motherboard (VH monitor) or power adapter (rare) :(

Be patient and do not trash motherboard, maybe coming months bring something useful to cure motherboard errors.

According to power adapter, maybe one of following will fit:
  • iP5200
  • MP600
  • MP800
  • MP830
