I can see that, but it appeas the failure rate is low so I wouldn't worry too much about having a customer service problem - at least with the well packaged RNB unit. The Chinese company seems concerned about their customers too though as I did get a reply from Rachel thanking me for giving them to opportunity to try for my business and she understood price was the determing factor. With customer service being so good about answering questions and following up I think I could order from them without losing much sleep too.

Shipping is a little high, but the cost of the resetter is less than a set of new cartridges so it's reasonable enough for me, and it's really nice to have my ink level monitor back - I don't care if the price drops $20 in the next couple weeks -> it was worth it to me to have it NOW! :)

I know I can order the RedSetter from over seas. I was hoping that some companies in the U.S. would carry the RedSetter, so we could get some decent postal rates and easier customer service if there is a problem with the unit.
That's why I'm holding back.
I can't figure why these machines aren't being offered from North American sites.

Maybe Canon is misusing the american legal system to delay the introduction of this resetter as long as possible ? You know about the alternatives for Epson cartridges........

One thing: the Canon OEM cartridges here in the Benelux cost 11.99 a piece making this to a hefty $ 17.99. I presume the CLI-8 carts are less expensive in the USA. The PGI-5 cost 13 and thus for a whole set for the IP5200 will be almost $ 100.......

The CLI8s run around $12-13 US around here, I haen't bought a PGI5 in a while.

I would've rather paid around $25-30 US for a resetter, but for the extra $20 or so I have piece of mind that I'm not running out of ink and burning up an print head so it was worth it to me. I've been waiting on a resetter for a couple years and I'm just plain tired of constantly checking ink!

Just done my second refilling of my carts

Went fine :)

Slightly OT Has anyone that bought their chipper from germany tried the inkswiss inks ???

They seem extremely cheap so a bit apprehensive as to buy them or not

Anyways filling the carts a second time was less stressful than the first time he he

UK cost of the colour carts for canon oem they are around 9.99 so approx $19 to $20 i guess

Ohh, After i refilled, I then chipped them all in one session so to speak, Then did a mixed colour print (several really) I saw the canon ink monitor pop up and it showed my pre-chipped levels but after a second or so they all went to full levels :)

I got my chip resetter, and it's superb. I did notice the Swiss ink on the same site for refilling the canon, but it only comes in four colours, (one black) so I'm not sure about it.

Has anyone else tried this ink?

To add something to the mixing pot .....

I wonder whether the ink they supplied with my redsetter was inkswiss ??

If so, I again cannot fault it

May take the plunge and order some and post back at a later day with my findings, Hmm decisions lol

Was that the ink refill kit? for 1.77?
I did buy some of the chipless carts, and they are inkswiss, but I don't have any chips to change over.
The refill kit, is american I believe.

For folks in USA, here's the Redsetter for $66 plus $3 S&H (located in Oregon):

http://stores.ebay.com/Tales-of-Tamoor

I'm not going to buy one for now, until the price drops to $30 or so. My ink runs for a year, so I do not tend to refill. With these cheap and easy-to-use resetters around, the nice thing is: we'll see lower price on 3rd-party and original cartridges.

$69 dollars to order from Oregon, or $50 to order from Germany . . . I'd still opt for Germany!
