Need a new printer PDQ. Print on CDs? Linux? Any good?

Brother was taken over by greed for money, same as Bambulab. Should avoid them as Brother Printheads are harder to clean (has membrane that gets always damaged if fluched using syringe method) undamaged then any epson.

Repairing Laser printer Fuser Pressure Roller with PTFE heat shrink?

I think you need to use this on the pressure roller, on top of it, the surface must not be too much damaged like falling apart etc. It would sure work on the roller that is on the opposite side where the ink goes. But it may work on the roller that contacts the toner too. Never tried it. But if...

Epson SC-P600 Error 0x44 after printhead removal and cleaning

Good job for everyone that fixed the problem by trimming the cable, but most times the missing connections on the ribbon cable are because of short circuit, they simply disintegrate, so that is why they are missing. Fuse is burned as consequence. So you have to check / replace main board fuse...

    Replacing the printhead

You need to get service manual, that helps. Need to get a non china print head that would really work OK. Also consider resetting the absorber using epson adj reset or wicreset programs. Make sure you do not damage cables that connect to print head while connecting them back.

Need a new printer PDQ. Print on CDs? Linux? Any good?

Recent new gen Brother printers with carts LC422 have single use chips, cart no refillable. Serial numbers of carts are permanently kept in memory of the Brother printer. Do not buy any printer that uses these carts. Look for previous gen Brother printer.

Epson ET-3850 color printing stops after software update(s)

If the ink can be pulled to dampers with syringe then it is print head problem, otherwise ink supply problem. If you could test this on another computer this would tell if it's software problem.

But there was one article that some KODAK ink + EPSON paper should last hundreds of years, another EPSON paper and same ink is a big problem.
