Hello,

Some printers are still working but Fuser parts like the Pressure Roller is not available or easy to get.
I had an idea that the Pressure Roller could be repaired using PTFE heat shrink.

There are many variations available, transparent and color. Semi rigid and soft.
Aliexpress is the only option else it costs too much

1m PTFE Plastic Heat Shrink Tube Diameter 16mm ~ 40mm 200Deg.C 1.3:1 Shrinkage Ratio High Temperature 600V Translucent FEP F46

Any idea if this would actually work?

Hello,
Great idea, actually I've one to fix coming from HP MFP M452. The pressure roller is available mainly from China, but I'm wondering how I can use these PTFE plastic tube.

Do you just put it on the tube ? Won't it slip ? Must I make the film and the pressure roller become one ?

How should I proceed : removing all the old film (a bit difficult) ? If not will it will change the pressure roller diameter, and therefore mess up line spacing a bit ?

I think you need to use this on the pressure roller, on top of it, the surface must not be too much damaged like falling apart etc. It would sure work on the roller that is on the opposite side where the ink goes. But it may work on the roller that contacts the toner too. Never tried it. But if anyone does would be wonderful as this is the only way to fix old printers with no spare parts available.
