Quality ICC profiles if key for easy printing getting what you see on your monitor, but your monitor must be profiled too, and preferably certified to know it does not lie. Else it's possible to getting into rabbit hole of "I profile it so it shows correct colors" when if fact is can't even show them

The monitor is a ViewSonic VP3256-4K that I got manufacturer refurbished:

They advertise as factory calibrated. The gamma is looking goofy out of the box, otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. I should be receiving the i1 Studio in a few days, looking forward to profiling it then.

There are some restrictions to tlhis aproach - printer and monitor are independent output devices and don't know of each other how they reproduce colors. Keep in mind that the gamuts of monitor and printer are not identical, they only overlap partially, and viewing conditions are typically different - an image on a monitor is typically viewed at a higher brightness than a print at ambient light - not even to mention the viewing color temperature.

Color management is like 3D printing, more complicated then buying a device and clicking some buttons, unfortunately this is the truth.

I thought everything is getting esier - simpler now with AI ..........am I missing something ?

Issues and limitations of softproofing print output on a monitor was subject of several
forum threads already over time.
