I think I might have caused this problem, due to a stupid move on my part. I had a local computer repair shop install my Printer Potty... they did a good job. At first I was getting totally blank nozzle checks, then realized I hadn't removed the cartridges' air plugs and I also forgot to open...
Well, I'm not hearing from anyone. So - I guess no harm could be done in trying my procedure. And it worked like a charm! I was going to delete the thread but I'll leave it to serve as a guide for folks looking for how to move the cartridge cradle for cleaning access - or whatever.
All's well...
It's a simple procedure and I used to do it all the time. Been a while now so I'm rather rusty. Is this the procedure?
Turn power on, and when motion stops, press the cartridge change button.
Cradle moves to the cartridge change position, disconnect power cord.
Now you can move the cartridge...
Hello websnail,
Actually you don't need to search ... I found a tray at a parts company: encompass.com
It was about $32 and it was the complete tray, all three extensions. I only needed the most extended of the three but that's the only way I could get it. Just posting that information here...
Thanks for finding the that number, Stratman. I don't need to retrieve that number now... but just to add this technique to my computer knowledge for future situations, would you please tell me how you did that? I think I'm not clicking properly on the 133 field.
Thanks!
websnail,
You got it, even though the E was obscured. You must know this particular resetter.
Over at InkjetCarts I was told what I've heard here, that you can't go by just the version number. They say their chips are encoded to their own wishes and this encoding doesn't refer to version numbers.
websnail:
Ah, heck sez I, here's the other side of the circuit board. I remember now, I've been down this path... had to install fresh batteries a while back.

Stratman:
Luckily I already had that parts catalog, and I found the stacker assembly right away, number 133. But I clicked on that field and could not pull up the part number. I even right clicked the field. I must be doing something wrong.

Very helpful thread, answering many gaps in my understanding.
websnail: I'm not quite sure what this means: "when power cycled"
Ah, you meant the resetter, not the printer! I kind of wondered... is this the photo you meant? Or do you mean the other side... I'd be happy to flip it over and...
Thanks, Ink... how do you suggest resetting those other carts? Would you use one of those little plastic units (a little longer than say, a box of matches) with seven pins that make contact with the chip? The pins are spring loaded. I have a couple of those, bought at different times for...
I spent a good amount of time looking for this part, but no luck. Can anyone suggest a source?
The tray has three parts, two of those parts are extensions and I need only the small one, the one furthest from the printer. But if I have to buy the complete tray, I'll do so. I bought the...
Thanks Ink, but I just topped off all my carts, so it'll be a while before I can do that. Sorry! but now I'll know what to do. Isn't it true that an ARC chip wouldn't permit me to top off the carts that needed it at a time of my own choosing? An ARC cart would allow a refill only if the status...
Thanks for the reply, websnail. Here's a drawing showing the three sections to the output tray. The part I'm missing is the smallest of the three extensions, the one furthest from the printer.
I think I'd better start a new thread to search for that part, lest I get in trouble for thread...
