Syringes & Needles : Legalities Question

I found that the German method required a sharp needle for non-Canon carts. The ones with foam inserts (Hobbilcolors) were compressed with the blunt needle. The foam also ended up being pushed into the reservoir on the tip of the needle and as the ink was injected it quickly soaked into the...

    i960 and iP8500 scraper spring?

Ditto. I have an IP5000 and I think it might have that springy-thingy, but since I can't remove the cover, it's hard to be certain.

Canon - Don't make them like they used to?

Just a reminder that the wait time can be cut using 'Custom Settings' - I haven't seen any problems when set to minimum.

    UK alternative to Windex?

The supermarkets are full of bottled ammonia where I live - and in the last forty years I've never heard of any epidemics of ammonia poisoning. Either the lager louts in the UK were trying new paths to glory or, more likely, the pointy heads who know everything, decided it was to be thus, and...

Since it's an Indian site - and they do have a passing knowledge of English, my guess is that the oil is soy.

"Starting a new job tomorrow!" So's someone else. They spent millions to get a job that pays thousands - as someone said 'it must have one hell of a dental plan'.

Needle length for German Durchstich refill method

I tried this method with an old Canon cart - fortunately I only injected water. As soon as I pressed the plunger on the syringe, water (mixing with residual ink in the sponge) started leaking out of the vent. No matter how slowly I injected, the water all went into the sponge - nothing in the...

Needle length for German Durchstich refill method

My question was why inject at all on the sponge side and thence to the reservoir - when you can move the injection site a millimeter to the other side of the barrier and into the empty reservoir.

Needle length for German Durchstich refill method

What's the difference between injecting the ink from the sponge side into the reservoir and injecting it straight into the reservoir? Is it something to do with air pressure?

You want ink with your printer?

I live in Ontario and the local Staples is offering the ip-4500 (includes CD tray printing and five carts) for $69. The Best Buy (US) website is offering the ip-4500 (no CD tray and one PG-5 plus only one CLI-8 cart) for $123. Apart from the world being turned upside down inasmuch as a Canadian...

German Durchstich refill method for Canon carts with pictures

I covered up the hole with that adhesive putty that kids use to stick papers to the wall. It's easy to apply and peels off no problem.
