You want ink with your printer?

I live in Ontario and the local Staples is offering the ip-4500 (includes CD tray printing and five carts) for $69.
The Best Buy (US) website is offering the ip-4500 (no CD tray and one PG-5 plus only one CLI-8 cart) for $123.
Apart from the world being turned upside down inasmuch as a Canadian store is selling for less than US, the novelty of shortchanging the customer on the ink tanks is an eye opener for me.
I hope it's not a new fashion.

Since the newest Canon printers have smaller cartridges, my guess is that the printers with the pgi-5 and cli-8 cartridges will do what the printers who used the BCI-3 and BCI-6 cartridges did..namely, increase in value as soon as inventories of them run out. The ip 3000, ip4000and ip5000,e.g, sold on eBay for humdreds of dollars each after the chipped models appeared.

To everyone considering a printer purchase, grab at least 1 of these bargains right now - they will not be available for long.
