Hi everyone,

After reading the two long posts on resetters initiated by Binkie and Defcon2k re: the RKS vs Sudhaus issue, there have been no other posts on this topic.

Wondering if there are any other thoughts on this issue, as I'm trying to make a decision about purchasing one and am unclear which to go with.

If you purchased one, and have any thoughts on RKS vs Sudhaus and how well yours continues to work up to today, I'd appreciate your posting.

Thanks.

I bought a Sudhaus when they first came out months ago, via RNB import & Export Germany, I have reset over 60 cartridges so far with no problems, battery still seems to be going strong, as well.

Like tigerwan, I bought a Sudhaus from RNB. I've reset about 10 so far - no problems at all.

I bought my RKS from Michele at http://www.inkjetreset.com/. I ordered
it very late Tues. night and received it Fri. morning. I reset the
two refilled tanks that were in my printer (both went from low ink warning
to full) and 9 others that I had refilled. It took only a couple of seconds
for each one. It came with a two year warrenty. She is located here in the
USA. Also it has four screws in the bottom for battery replacement so you
will not have to pry it off.
I am very happy with my RKS resetter.

Jru,

I have contacted Sudhaus about this entire issue and they have simply pointed me to their press release about taking action against those who copy their product.

Until we get an official RKS response, I consider this as proof that Sudhaus is indeed the original designers of the resetter. In regards to RKS we only hear from them through the distributor joyea mentions.

But the user joyea has posted in the following threads only:

What is latest thinking on cli8 pgi5 chip resetters?
Canon ReSetter availbility
Canon Chip Resetter Reports
redsetter or bluesetter -- Which is the best?
Canon MP 530 ink tank questions
make your own conclusions, but I believe there is a carefully planned spamming campaing going on in the forum.

I don't think there is a real difference between the original and the clone resetters (whatever their color) but I believe that if we are to see more canon resetters in the future we could at least purchase from the original designers.

I have been a member here for almost a year and a half and this is
the first product that I have bought and recommended. I feel that
I have as much right as anyone here to tell about a product I bought.
Or at least I thought so. I bought it as a result of a post here.
Are only a select few able to post where they purchase products. I
live in the USA and therefore wanted to purchase in the USA.

I AM NOT A SPAMMER and resent the fact that panos can call me one
because I chose to buy in my country instead of from one on his
approved list of sellers. Panos needs to get his facts straight
before calling people spammers because we do not agree with his
opinion. The overseas sellers I ckecked cost too much for me to be
able to buy from. These were all sellers that I went to also as a
result of them being posted in these forums. I have checked out all
the links posted and even emailed some.

I have posted in the forums he mentioned because I have the Canon mp530
and need the fax. It will not fax if the tanks are empty and I cannot
pay the price for new tanks. I refill because of this and did not
want to disable the ink monitor and risk the printheads. I have read
all the posts on refilling and resetters to learn the best way to do
so and have asked questions to help me decide what to do. I thought
that this was a forum where people help people who simply want to learn.
This Canon is only the second printer that I have had and the first one
did not have chips. Thanks to all who have helped me.

I do not buy many products but when I do find one I am happy with
I will post again.

Planned from June 2007 and kicked in a year later?
There's patience for you!

I have had an identical experience! Good grief! If joyea is a spammer, I guess I am one too!:|

There is no doubt in my mind that Michele, and her products, are as legit as it gets. She warrants them and she is very accessible. Heck, I even know where she lives here in Oregon. The resetter works great and I couldn't be happier.

By the way panos, it's too bad you can't find an English translation for the Sudhaus statement (PDF) that you referenced. I would like to know what it actually says. Last time I checked, the forum here tends to lean toward ENGLISH! No?

http://www.inkjetreset.com is an interesting site, mainly because it offers a link to Richard Carrier's "The God That Wasn't There". Not that I have any issues with the film, other it's a low budget flick, but it strikes me as being as tacky as those people who advertise their business with Jesus fish.

Also of interest is not shipping with insurance, or rather asking the buyer to pay for extra insurance. That seems odd. Also odd is listing the product as being compatible with the ip3000/5000, which are chipless models. This could be a typo.

The price of the bluesetter there is $57, where the redsetter floats at about $28, though it's hard to say whether these are Sudhaus products or not. It's one of those cases if Sudhaus claims they are not, I'd be most pleased to buy a genuine product from them.
