Today I used Calibrite CCStudio to make a profile (BW optimized method using the 1 + 2 target procedure), between my older Colormunki Photo and my newly purchased second hand Colormunki Photo (Thanks to @palombian ).
Printer: Epson SC-P800
paper: Netbit Glossy 300 gsm (Aldi Belgium)
inkset...
This morning I made a profile for Moab Satin 240 gsm photo paper with my Epson SC-P800 printer with Ocbestjet K3 pigment (from Aliexpress.com) using the ccStudio software of Calibrite (successor of X-Rite Colormunki but fully compatible to the Colormunki Photo I bought from marktplaats.nl thanks...
Yesterday I installed the Calibrite CCStudio app and it worked. iStudio could not be activated with the Colormunki when asked for for the scanner profiling, but strangely enough it does work for printer profiles.
I tried the iStudio and the Calibrite Studio sofware to enable the scanner calibration, but it does not recognize my Colormunki even when plugged in for verification. It seems to work only with the iStudio or Calibrite version of the Colormunki (maybe check for ID ?). Does somebody know how I...
Thanks for the tip of Palombian: I have just tested the Colormunki and it works perfectly. I also received a Colorchecker Classic (not included with my previous Colormunki) so I can now profile my scanners too.
How are you going to rinse the print head after the end of the day ? Solvent inks are very tenacious in terms of clogging and after each day of printing the print head should be flushed properly to prevent pigment particles to coagulate and clog the print head. Most solvent ink users use...
If you have space to store it: Epson SureColor SC-T3400, prints up to A1 (including roll paper), 4-colour printer which is enough for posters (no photo's), pigment ink based and aftermarket cartridges available for about 50 euro per 350 ml (which is rather cheap). Costs about €900 including...
Terrible operating system: MacOS. In the end I sold my 27 inch iMac 5K Retina for a full-blown Windows Ryzen machine to finally get consistent color management. With MacOS sometimes it works and sometimes for some strange reasons the color management is off or double profiled and I never could...
How to solve this problem ? Firstly I thought it was caused by my home-brewed gray ink, but after exchanged the cartridge with original Epson gray ink, the problem still exists. I already tried the soaking method with a piece of paper towel folded and moisturized with my solution, but with no...
Did you need to flush the cartridges on a regular base to ensure good ink flow and if so: after how many refills do you need to flush the carts from your experience for both dye and pigment ink cartridges ?
Why are you concerning about pigment aftermarket inks for fading ? For dye ink I would bother about this, but even aftermarket pigment inks will last for decades.
Inktec pigment ink is very good: good gloss and very good scratch resistance and fade resistance. However there is some bronzing (more than original inks), but since your ImagePrograf printer uses gloss optimizer, this should be of lesser concern. I am using Inktec Powerchrome K3 compatible...
A few days ago I had quite a massive "clog" in the cyan and yellow channel. I couldn't get it right after 3 cleaning cycles, I checked the refillable cartridges and nevertheless the ink compartment was 2/3 to 3/4 full, so there was enough ink. To be sure what the problem was I reinstalled my...
