Canon prograf pro-1000 magenta discoloration

Hello, I’m having issues printing photos/designs from Photoshop to a Canon PROGRAF pro-1000 (could be a common issue with other canon printers). I’ve been having a pretty persistent issue with the printer replacing beige colors with pink/magenta at the beginning of the printing cycle, and then it adjusts and continues printing correctly. Any idea what could be causing this? Also the weird thing is this seems like it depends on the paper size being loaded in the tray. Smaller sizes don’t have this issue. Even if we print a file (11x14) on a 19x13 sheet, the discoloration will occur but if we cut down the same sheet to 11x14 and then print, it goes away. Any ideas?

You didn’t say... But are you using a MAC by any chance..

That’s the source of your colour troubles, the OS may not be compatible with the print driver or the App your using to print with is not compatible either, use a known test print and work from there.. Don’t use your own prints to trouble shoot..

Terrible operating system: MacOS. In the end I sold my 27 inch iMac 5K Retina for a full-blown Windows Ryzen machine to finally get consistent color management. With MacOS sometimes it works and sometimes for some strange reasons the color management is off or double profiled and I never could replicate the reason why it was wrong, because after an update some other problems occur concerning color management.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try printing from my PC and see if it has the same issues.

Try this one, and remember dont alter it in any way, just set your media to glossy..
