Thanks for the tip of Palombian: I have just tested the Colormunki and it works perfectly. I also received a Colorchecker Classic (not included with my previous Colormunki) so I can now profile my scanners too.

I tried the iStudio and the Calibrite Studio sofware to enable the scanner calibration, but it does not recognize my Colormunki even when plugged in for verification. It seems to work only with the iStudio or Calibrite version of the Colormunki (maybe check for ID ?). Does somebody know how I can calibrate my scanner by scanning the X-rite Colorcheck 24 patch with some other software or to circumvent the activation problem (Colormunki can used for printer profiling using the iStudio/Calibrite software but not for scanner calibration).

I remember that the Vuescan scanner software has an option to calibrate/profile a scanner.

I have all three software versions still installed.
I remember I had to register the Colormunki, but this seems not possible anymore. The option also disappeared from the latest (last) Photo application (1.2.2).
Does the Colorpicker (very nice stuff) tab works ?

As far as I understand the scanner calibration (in i1 and ccStudio) only uses the Colorchecker card and doesn't need the Colormunki.

To detect the Colormunki the Xrite Device Service Manager service (xrdd.exe) must be active (you can see this on the blinking Colormunki led).

Yesterday I installed the Calibrite CCStudio app and it worked. iStudio could not be activated with the Colormunki when asked for for the scanner profiling, but strangely enough it does work for printer profiles.

This morning I made a profile for Moab Satin 240 gsm photo paper with my Epson SC-P800 printer with Ocbestjet K3 pigment (from Aliexpress.com) using the ccStudio software of Calibrite (successor of X-Rite Colormunki but fully compatible to the Colormunki Photo I bought from marktplaats.nl thanks to Palombian) using the 4-1 shrink method on a single sheet of A4 and also printed a test image on the same page to evaluate the profile quality. I choosed the B/W profile method to neutralise B/W prints in color images: 1 primary target followed with 2 secondary targets generated on the reading values of the primary target.

I just stumbled into this thread – do you remember where this "4-1 shrink" method is described? Thanks :)
