what causes that horizontal lines

i have an hp 8250 photosmart printer. when i print fast mode some hrizontal lines occurs on my print outs. what causes these horizantal lines. you can see two examples of this on the links below.

Why would you want to use fast mode on your printer anyway. If you got a good printer why not use it to its full potential. I only use fast mode for doing a quick printout of some page of type and when numbering pages..

i printed out same pages in normal mode and lines didnt appear. but there are some normal mode print outs that has lines. these lines are periodic on same pages. in some pages there is only one apparent line at the bottom of the page and it always happens at same place of the paper.

the hat:
i am printing out a book right now. the quality isnt important for me for this stage. for this reason i use fast mode for saving time and ink.

i wonder whether my printhead dies or not.

Does the hp 8250 photosmart have the printhead on the cartridges or a separate one like the canon printers..

it has built in printhead.

You could try just given the electrical contacts a bit of a clean..

is it because of the electrical contact?. i figured out that these lines occurs on all colors. so nozzles cant be clogged?

No what I was hinting at was a possible little intermittent electrical problem.
Do you use the same program to print when the line appears, what similarities are there with the sheets that have this line and the ones that dont i.e. is there any connection..

i am printing some pdf files using foxit reader. plus i saw a line on the printers own test page. i didnt use my computer to print a test page. i did it via its own menu on its lcd screen. although it is not very apparent i can still see it .
