I'm new to the Canon world of printing b/w. I've been using 6 cartridges, 5 variations of Eboni black, and 1 toner. Today I printed an iron truss bridge (lots of black and dark rusty red!) with my new Canon Pixma iP8720 using EZink. I was quite happy with the results except for the tone of the black containing a rather pronounced tint of blue.
I did notice a possible fix: there's a feature in the software that looks like it can be checked in the color option:
color/Intensity Manual Adjustment
I don't know what to call this software, it seems to be accessible via many apps - maybe it comes with Win 10. Can I use this software to "warm up" my blacks? I did try it, results were not stunning, but wasn't sure how to use it. Or maybe readers have other favorite recipes. In darkroom days my favorite black was a warm black by Agfa.
I should add that my EZink came in its own carts. At first I was using the carts and ink supplied with the printer. Are those inks compatible? Or maybe I should have let the pre-installed ink run dry. Although that's not recommended.
Thanks all!
