Creality offered to send me a new motherboard and a free spool of filament for my trouble. Nice of them to give good support and offer to make-good but:
  1. It's going to take 2 weeks to get the goods
  2. No guarantee it will even fix the problem
  3. What happens if I keep doing all this back/forth and it still doesn't work and I can't return the printer?
  4. I'm feeling like sticking with my CR-10 is plenty fine for what I do... 99% PLA on a cold glass bed with gluestick :)
So, I'm definitely leaning towards just returning the printer.

Keep the free spools of filament and sell the non working Ender and spare motherboards to somebody willing to experiment. (@The Hat or @stratman, for instance.. ;) ).
Whatever yo do about this matter, above all you must keep and cherish your GF.

Wouldn’t it be quicker to drive to your own place and bring the CR-10 over to hers, and send the broken printer back to Amazon!, at least you could print something for Christmas..

P.S. Don’t forget to bring over some filament with you too…:)

I've dreamed nothing else for months and months. That's a bit worrying by now.:p

Of course, it would be worse if I started to dream that you purchase a Voron in order to print the ultimate lampost garden, made exclusively from green fluorescent flex filament. :sick

Oops, I've been warned seriously by the forum Off-topic control police.
Sorry @Nifty.

Yup! That's the new plan. :)

Hopefully this is just a laugh since we don't (shouldn't) have any rules or issues with off-topic discussions. The only time I've ever even considered "policing" it is if the original poster had a very on-topic discussion and the whole thread went off-topic and the OP was really bothered an not getting the support they needed from the thread... and people weren't respecting the OP's request to stay on topic.

... but that's SUPER rare. Human conversations usually tend to flow different directions, and I'm fully ok with that on my forums too. :)

I looked briefly at the Voron, especially after watching the video below... but it's currently outside of my skillset (and budget), but there are a lot of cool features!

I tend to agree, the Voron is the real business, it’s way above just about everything else, in the quality it can produce.. Best advise… Learn Fusion 360 first, then get a Voron.. It can run more than just PLA…

Your printers can run PC and Flex also. If not why did you purchase spools of these filaments ? :D
Seriously, I'm contented with my small Prusa. The only thing I'd change is the bed moving along the Y axis to a CoreXY, but that's another league.

@Nifty -- My comment about the 'off-topic control police' was only one of my bad jokes. Sorry again.

It wasn’t such that it was a bad joke, it was just off topic..:gig:lol::lol:
Explain.. ? What’s wrong with the way your bed moves X and Y
