Bubonic plague still kills people. It does occur (rarely) here in the States and people do die. A young girl nearly died recently because she wanted to bury a dead squirrel and the fleas got into her clothing. Nasty, nasty disease imported from the old country.

OK, back to cheerier things...

All of them! LOL
Ahhh Yersinia Pestis! Now there's a bug I thought I would never hear about again.
My job when I did work at The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology was in Microbiology and we housed this lovely bug among many others in our repository!
I am so glad to be retired and playing with ink and printers instead!

Joe:

I'm sure you had all manner of nasties stored in the fridge at work. Definitely not the kind of job you want to take work home!

One of my favorite movies as a youth was the original The Andromeda Strain. My next fav would be Outbreak. You are the forum's Dustin Hoffman! Thumbs up on your wife Renee Russo. :thumbsup

I just read measles and mumps are making a mini surge as well. I've seen the effects of pertussis on a vaccine naive mother and child. Not pretty. People need to be better educated about herd immunity.

Saw that movie and laughed at the many scientific "Mistakes" they were making! LOL! They should've done their homework a bit better.

These infectious organisms are stored at -195c in special freezers. Or in liquid nitrogen.

Education is tops when it comes to disease control. But there is only so much one can do. And yes I am VERY happy to not be doing that sort of work any longer.
Every time my wife didn't feel well, she would ask in a interrogative tone of voice, "And what did you bring home now?"
My answer was always, "Uh.... Nothing honey"

Both of the movies were written by physicians and then the screenplays adapted by laypeople for laypeople. No wonder 'liberties" were taken.

But know I know your secret of getting so many printers past Mrs. Joe. Her relief you weren't bringing home bugs and instead harmless printers!

You are a smart man, Joe. :old

Printers are far from harmless, try dropping one or (15) on your foot and see.. :hit

The Pro-100 is obviously a great printer. I am seeing it being offered on E-bay at very attractive prices. Some but not all will ship to the UK. Probably a stupid question but can this printer be used in the UK?

I realise you will need to have to step down the power supply but now a resetter is available and inks will the supplied carts work providing you keep of the internet and connect with USB cable.

I sure The Hat will have the answer, got my safety helmet on.

The power supply or AC adapter accepts both 115V 60Hz and 230V 50 Hz so you will only have to replace the AC cord to use the printer in Europe. The CLI-42 cartridges seem not to be regionalized, so the cartridges and the resetter should give no problems either.
