"EIZOs ContrastEnhancer adjusts in real time the brightness, gain, and gamma for images that are too light or too dark to their ideal levels."

Unless you have a printer that does the same automatically, you will have some strange prints.

Ok now I am with you. Flexscan HD is a hmdi tv monitor by design and can be used for photography too. I use ColorEdge CG222W , ColorEdge is a monitor that is purpose designed for photographic colour management in a studio/ professional environment. My little 22" cost A$2500, and was purchased in a moment of utter madness!!
I got there by accident, as an avid reader I followed a couple of local photo magazines. One of the gurus was waxing on about Eizo ColorEdge at the same time that I was shopping around.
The self calibrating model sells for way over A $3000 and I just could not spend that sort of money on what I do.
The photo models ColorEdge, dont seem to talk about auto ambient reset, because reset is very different from dynamic adjust.

I still believe that for true colour accuracy for photo prints all lighting values, including viewing are in sync in an ideal world. Hence the printmakers skill. My output is average compared to some I have seen, they can get results I can only dream of achieving.
