unlike the 550 cartridges the CLI-42 supplied with the Canon Pro-100 are fully loaded. This is because the design is based on the former CLI-8 cartridges, which only only allow fully loaded cartridges.

Anyhow: you Americans are really lucky with these prices. In Europe the prices are equivalent to be at least US$600, so 10 times the price...

I noticed on the "what's in the box" it lists introductory ink tanks so I doubt they have much ink in them. I didn't realize Canon was starting to use these partially filled cartridges in their new printers. In addition they want $35 to ship it.

They didn't appear to be "underfilled" carts to me visually. They looked as full as a replacement OEM care. But they are labeled "setup" for some reason...

No, though they are called Setup carts they contain a full load of ink. In fact they are filled to the brim.
