precision color inks

Hello
I have a Canon pro 10s with a set of precision color inks : if I print color pictures on glossy or mat paper , it's ok
: if i print black and white pictures on glossy or mat paper , they are Cyan !! with oem or precision color icc profil , same problem .
: With Hahnemule paper mat and oem icc profil , black and white pictures are ok .
on glossy paper the photo black can be easily removed if I touch it . Gloss optimiser problem ? Jose rodrigues use oem gloss optimiser .
Can you help me to understand ?

Did you ask Jose? Any questions or issues you have that arise from following his teachings should be directed at him.

An ICC Printer profile is created from the specific combination of printer model and its software, the ink used, and the paper used. Change any one of these and a new ICC Printer Profile is oftentimes needed. That an ICC Printer Profile made for a different combination works to your satisfaction is "luck".

Realize that each paper has it's own peculiarities when it comes to the issues you mentioned. Some paper may have no issue and other significant issues.

Knowing this, While some paper types as a class may not work well with certain ink formulations, it is important to detail what paper you are using as a member on the forum may have had experience and can inform you better. Often times you will not know until you try. At that point you generally try an ICC Printer Profile made for that paper-ink-printer combination, accept the image results, or move on to a different paper.

In general, sticking with the paper the ICC was created with decreases the risk for technical problems.

with Canon oem inks , black and white or color prints are ok on all papers with oem icc profil
with precision color inks : Hahnemule photo silk baryta 310gr with oem icc profil color print is good black and white print is cyan . Photo mat fibre duo 210gr with oem icc profil , color print or black and white print is good . Canson Baryta 310gr with oem icc profil , color print is good , black and white print is cyan . Canon pro platinium with oem icc profil , color print is good , black and white print is cyan . Other paper same setting same problem . Why only black and white prints are bad ?? only prints with Hahnemule photo mat fibre 210gr are good , color or black and white

I think there are ICC profiles for using precision inks on their web site.

Everything you listed in Post #3 used OEM ICC printer profiles. It appears you also used Precision Colors inks except for the mention of OEM inks providing good results in your first sentence.

You would think a custom ICC printer profile would provide good results but that is not necessarily true as you have seen with B&W prints. B&W printing may need more tuning of the ICC profile or some gross tuning of color adjustments in the printer driver.

You could direct your questions at Precision Colors. Who better to know than the person (mikling) who created the custom ICC printer profile for his custom inks used on specific papers.

You may note that forum member and owner of Precision Colors Mikling gives a caveat on color issues on his Pro-10 custom ICC printer profiles page:

Ahh. It's your fault.

Yes, it's a little slippery, but it is a reality of the effects of inks on paper. Not every combination creates the desired result without further tinkering.

Your choices are

• Use papers that produce the desired results out of the box.
• Buy or create your own custom ICC printer profile for every problematic paper you want to use.
• Live with the imperfect results.
• Try manually adjusting the color settings in your printer's driver. Forum member @PeterBJ has a good tutorial on fixing color cast:
