Hopefully they take the hint... Thanks ISF...And now I leave it up to you to flood this thread with your POW's......
Whisky gets a Like vote.I went to Helgoland a few weeks ago,
Oh sure - it could be his turn now ....P.S. Please excuse @stratman from this request..
How got the "e" added to the name ?PS - Ireland and the USA spell it "Whiskey" with an "e".
It is said the spelling is due to differences in language. Maybe the Scotsman who wrote it down the first time was running out of ink and left the "e" off to economize. How got the "e" added to the name ?
I don't think that's what @The Hat 's "Please excuse @stratman from this request.." meant.Oh sure - it could be his turn now ....
Ops...Maybe the Scotsman who wrote it down the first time was running out of ink and left the "e" off to economize.
Congrats @Ink stained Fingers for getting this week's POW!I went to Helgoland a few weeks ago, a small island in the North Sea, not much more than a big piece of
sandstone rock with thousands of sea birds and lots of history. England took it over in a battle from the Danish crown about 200 years ago to use that place as a smuggling base to bypass Napoleon's blockade , and a little museum there keeps some memorabilia from those days - although not exactly this box, the German Emperor bought that island 1890, and it developed into a tourist place since then - still duty free.......
