Hi Jtoolman...

I remember watching your videos a ways back and they were pretty good... in fact the general quality of the resources on the 9500 have been a boon. The approach I've gone with though, is more specific to the SquEasyFill system so it's still new... I'll be referring to other resources though, when I've had time to stop and catch my breath.

Way too much to get done yet.

In other news... the first draft of my refill approach is here:
http://www.octoink.co.uk/_video/pgi9-refill/

... frankly, I don't like the quality of the guide at all now, with so much information left out, poor script (or is that "What script?!") and well, it's a learning process... Gives you an idea of the approach I've gone for though and you may well have some comments on it.

It'll get a re-do once I've sorted other jobs but as a overall "How to", it could be worse... :)
I cant imagine switching from a 3880 to the 9500, BUT....the 9000 I bought as a dye only semi pro printer is a super machine so one never can say never wot!!!!

I thought your video was good, it may seem a bit disjointed but for me the breaks reinforced the separate steps an makes it EASY to flick back and find a bit a person needs to look at again. Not so easy on a non stop presentation. Quality is good as is focus and zeroing on critical actions. I DO like the sqeezy bottle and the refill attachment is abloomin winner to my eye.

Congratulations!

Andrew

Thanks... It's still a learning curve thing and I need to review the whole thing anyway in light of the speed you can do a dribble/stream fill but I take your point about the different styles in presentation..

Most of those transactions/breaks are there to cover whatever foul up I made and needed to cut out of the final video... LOTS of bloopers, etc... :)

OCP announced last year that they were going to make an ink set for the Pro9500, were GOING to
but nothing has come from there since, it might have something to do with the cost of making these pigment ink.

The most reliable and best ink sets for the 9500 are made by I.S., to most they seem rather expensive
but in fact there not, now if youre comparing them to dye inks then they are. (No comparison)

Precisioncolor are about the cheapest in the US and Octoinkjet are the same in the EU,
OCP can be cheaper for a lot of their dye inks but they lose their top spot with their courier charges.

From what Ive seen 22 a litre for HP ink is for nothing but I still wouldnt use it in my Canon 9500 printer,
Ive always had the philosophy of buy cheap pay twice and if its too good to be true it usually is.

When your using with a dye printer you can get away with just about anything selling on EBay that vaguely passes for ink
and you print finish will also reflect that, but if you use a pigment printer
then you are expecting a higher quality print every time not just a one off..
