ok to use ink 4 months past expiration date?

I use Eboni carbon ink and I usually get it from MIS Ink Supply but I've had trouble placing an order. I do have a liter of their Eboni ink and the label says to use it by Sept. 1 so it's now 4 months past that. It's unopened, sealed. and stored in a dark cool place in the basement. I'm in a crunch and am tempted to use this ink. Would it be risky?

Based on what you wrote, I would use it.

Shake well before opening to mix up the pigment particles.
