I reckon you can go with the CLI-8 inks including the BK black until he can get his printer up and running,
but if he wishes to use Pigment black then I would obviously recommend the KMP as you suggested,
especially if he is going to do a lot of prints in black only.

The reference he gave dough in his earlier post regarding his inks was for BK black,
so its really down to him on that one, the printer can use either..

Ideally i would like to stick to what we know works, which is the IJC224 Bk. So whichever equivalent type will do fine.

Just to clarify i am a different person to the OP. We are up and running and have been for some time. :) Predominately we print greyscale line drawings but every-now-and-again we run off full-size color images.

If anyone knows how to bypass the MT cart chip or where to get the full chips from we would be in debt to you because the last one (we replaced for 40) had barely a squirt of ink in its wadding yet was 'full'!

Thanks very much for all the help so far. Tightening up in this recession will help us no end!

(BK) black it is then so, if you let Martin know he will be able to go ahead with your ink order.

The maintenance cartridges cant be bypassed because your printer is too old to get an ARC chip
so youre stuck with having to buy a new one each time it fills.

You could try cleaning the MC out and keep it spare and try using it again later
after you have replaced another 3 in front of it, so it may reset as the fourth one in. (Might)

The reason for not allowing the override in the MC is quite simple,
could you imagine the mess it would make if you had forgotten to empty it and it flowed out all over the floor.

The best way to reduce the amount of waste going into the MC is to leave the printer switched on 24/7
and remember if you accidently run completely out of ink in one of your cartridges
the printer will run a very big cleaning cycle to clear any air out of the tubing and it will dump a lot more ink into your MC.

Thanks for the heads up. Its a shame though because our printer seems to waste very little ink into the the MT cart but hey ho..

I've sent a message to Martin so when everything arrives ill report back with how the colours are working out etc..

Thanks again The Hat and everyone else involved! Saving 5/6th on ink means i might actually get paid something in the coming months!! No joke!

Hello everyone! I do plan on giving a write up of sorts in case you were thinking of adding the Oce to your list of refillable printers or just for your own knowledge. I haven't forgotten but work has seriously kicked off so i havent had as much time. But i will mention that everything is working fine and ive developed a pretty awesome technique! Regards
