those are not water soluble, you need a particular low viscosity to get the ink out of the small nozzles, or more power. the large format printers can handle inks with other solvents, UV curable inks, Latex based inks and more, but the printheads must be suited for those, and printers with such inks require quite a lot of care and cleaning, clogged nozzles from acrylic ink - o.k......

I recieved the EV6 inks from Precision Colors, 2 weeks delivery time, and will place some patches into the environment together with patches printed with the Fujifilm DL ink and see how they'll fade.

I did a profile with the EV6 ink on a cheap glossy paper, the gamut is good, wider than with some other inks, as well the black is pretty dark. But since I delete profiles after awhile for which I don't have the inks anymore I can't show a diagram or numerical values to compare. Patches for the fade test are printed and placed outside. It will take a while to see any effects, the summer sun is gone, o.k. we'll see.

The summer sun is not a necessity, you need light not heat to do the damage..

oh sure, it just will take a little bit longer, and actually - I'm the one who likes the summer sun...

I have several patches in the sun/overcast in whatever weather these days with various inks:

EV6 by precisioncolors - this ink performs (somewhat) better than Coralgraph Epson inks, it's always the black which starts turning brown pretty quickly first before you can see changes at the other colors. I use Coralgraph patches as an ink quite typical for a 'non UV-resistant ink', similar like OCP and others, this allows me to bracket the findings between Coralgraph and Fujifilm DL inks .

D3000 China ink - a dye ink from China at 70€/l, a quite unusually high price for dye inks. This ink is offered as compatible with the Epson Surelab D700/D3000 Ultrachrome D6 inks, and competes with the Fujifilm DL inks. This ink seems to perform - after the first few days - similiar to the DL inks, better than the EV6 inks.

I'll run the test for the next days/weeks, it's not so much to find a winner but whether supplier claims hold true, and whether a higher ink price actually gives better longevity performance.
Most of refill ink users are happy with their current products in use, but if they are actively looking for a better longevity performance here are alternatives - at a price, and for Epson users only

Here is a link via Aliexpress to the D3000 kompatible ink,
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Winn...or-Epson-D3000-6piecesX1000ml/1694919626.html

you can ask them for other fill volumes, or another transportation company, if you want to do
your own tests.
I got 6x500ml via Fedex to Germany for 243€ landed cost at my house. They seem to be
quite flexible /want you to sell something.

P.S. I got a tax/duty invoice by Fedex, they prepaid the import duties upfront, of a total of 60€, this makes a total final price for the D3000 ink from China 100€/litre

It will be interesting to see how your prints turn out with that ink set, even more so how they’ll handle a good fade test, will you keep us posted please..

here some interim findings -

the EV6 ink by precisioncolors - the black starts turning brown, the Fujifilm DL patches don't show yet such changes - this after 8 days - from Sept. 9 to Sept. 17 today, and cyan starts getting lighter as well
EV6-1.jpg

the D3000 inks perform better , here are no changes visible yet.

I'll keep the patches in the outside in whatever weather will come, so it's some ozone, some humidity and some UV impairing the prints
