My MB5150 is quite old but, so far, it keeps going strong. Nevertheless, during the last days I had a couple of times the same strange issue printing a document of several pages. The job starts OK but then it stops in the middle of the third page, for no apparent reason, while on the screen appears the ambiguous message : ”Processing. Please wait”.

After a minute or so the machine ejects the half printed page and resumes printing normally but it begins again from the first page and finishes correctly. So I end up with three wasted sheets of paper corresponding to the pages printed before the mysterious stop.

Anybody here has had the same issue ?. I guess that @The Hat will say that this is related to a spotty wifi connection .. and possibly he’s right.

I’ll be using the USB cable for a while to see if the issue appears.

Is it just the one document where it does this or every document? Sometimes a document can have corrupted data when printing, but I guessed you have ruled that out by printing other documents?

It happens randomly, not on every printing job. Besides, a corrupted file seems impossible because, after the unexpected pause, the same document is printed from the start without further issues.
As I said, this happened only twice so far. First time two weeks ago and second time last Saturday ( on different documents). Apart from a wifi problem, I can't think of anything else.

Think the wifi is probably the thing that went intermittent and caused the problem as you say.

What your experiencing is a communication problem, the printer only receives a small portions of your document before it starts to print, (Normal) but the later part of the document goes missing, so the printer cant complete the whole document, so it starts again..

You can try using a wired connection, that maybe is not desirable for you but it’s essential for proper two-way continuity, because the printer is sent a screen shot of your document, (First) so it knows the start and end of the print file..

That’s probably why its reprinting the documents again until it can get to the end of the file, it can then purge the print spooler..

Several of my printers are connected with up to 10 metres of USB cable, then to a powered hub and finally a 2 metre cable to the printer, I never have any issues with loss of data with this kind of setup..

There are mutable items inside your house that use Wi-Fi and this can sometimes cause date to go astray..

l wonder if this might be the root of the issue. I can't remember if my 3D printer was connected when the issues on the MB5150 happened. Or maybe it was the washing machine application ?. The second error happened last Saturday morning and the washing machine was "on duty" at that time.
Luckily my Maxify sits beside the computer when I print. No problem using a USB cable.

IMO it is a random problem - or two of them occurring together - that puts the printer in this mode.
Unless you get it regularly I wouldn't worry too much.

BTW the phone company installed a gorgeous new fiber network and Wi-Fi system here (expensive, but you have not much choice here in Belgium) and I switched my Maxify and PRO-10 to Wi-Fi.

Update : after printing several jobs using the USB cable, the problem hasn't reappeared, what reinforces our assumption that it was just a Wifi issue.
