Not only the horizontal Magenta swath but also numerous vertical black bars have Magenta smears or oversprays that appear exclusively to the right of the vertical bars, and, also around the letters PBK, C and the "Y" of GY. These Magenta smears/oversprays also appear to be similar in height (vertical axis) or location as the defect in the Magenta horizontal swath. That nozzle check is not ok on magenta.
Your full image scan appears to show macro banding as if the entire width of the nozzles are involved. There is some variability in the banding that becomes more prominent the closer you look to the right upper portion of the image.A scan of the whole image printed in standard quality.
.... Could these smaller bands be artifact from scanning?

I agree Magenta appears to be the only cartridge involved so far. By posting the complete nozzle check we are able to see the greater extent of the issue.Yes, but since all smears are magenta other colors are not involved IMO.

The overspray of Magenta is not symmetric - it does not occur with all vertical black bars or abbreviations for the names of the colors, OR to the same extent when it does occur.
Does your printer have a Timing Strip. If so, try cleaning it.
Have you tried a new Magenta cartridge?
Glad to hear it!I replaced the (octoinkjet) magenta with OEM and the problem seems to be solved.
