I wonder if some of the posts you see are reposts. More than one web site publishes the same posts as FixYourOwnPrinter. I would like to see more evidence of this, Bob.

Also, the link you posted is concerned with old model Canons for which print heads are no longer in manufacture. Maybe Canon did have a problem at some point in the remote past, but there have been no rash of reportings in the past several years suggestive of a systemic manufacturing problem since I have been monitoring issues AFAIK.
I give up! I never said a rash of failures, it has happened in the past to me and others. It was just a suggestion to the OP that he may just have a bad print head. Two new cartridges and a print head and capping station cleaning would have solved this in about an hour. You guys really drag this on.....

I think I'm beginning to understand why you call yourself FussyBob. :barnie

OK. I thought you meant there was a known systemic problem with print head cracks, not isolated instances you unambiguously refer to now.

Two new cartridges and a print head and capping station cleaning would have solved this in about an hour.
Don't blame me. I agreed with you before you even wrote it. (see post #5)
You guys really drag this on.....
You must be new here. That is what we do. :D

We might be a tad bit obsessive here, and sometimes that means we challenge each other with questions, but we mean well and and truly want to know as much as we can to help ourselves and others. Nifty-Stuff is one of the world's best printer refilling forums because we do challenge ourselves and each other to provide as much accurate information as possible while expanding the knowledge base, all the while providing assistance to others in need. It's a pretty good gig and well worth sticking around.

Sort of new here and will be sticking around.....

I hope the OP solves his issue soon.

Thanks to stratman and Bop for all your useful advises and commends, Im very appreciated.

I had tried simple and cheapest way, changed CLI-8M cartridge, refill all others cartridges included black, seal very properly whatever holes on top cartridges.

For other suggestion like: clean the print head, parking sponges or wick method.
Because I have no knowledge about inkjet printer, if above methods have steps show in picture then will be very helpful for me to try out.

Last time the problem came back after few weeks, so I will keep monitoring and will try my best to update in this forum.

Thanks again to everyone that willing to share your commends on this topic.
