While its not what you're looking for, I have the full official canon ip4200 service manual if either of you would like it.

They are similar printers so it may be of some use to you.

Thankyou both for the superfast replies. I got both emails together.

Just had a quick look through the manuals, when the wife caught me, she said "If I attempt the strip down. I would be left with millions of little bits", typical, I'm okay to do house work, but I must leave my printers alone. They have no faith.

The instructions from both of you, look great, and I will be stripping down one of my 3 ip4500's. I'll make sure it's the wife's first!!!

Thanks again

Robert

Snap !! Thank you both, I will now attempt to remove the cover off my 4500 and retrieve the offending paper clip, I wont expain how it got in there as its too embarrasing !

In my case I wont have to deal with left over screws and bit of plastic because anything that flies off and hits the floor is usualy eaten by the dog, I will then just put the half assemble printer back where it lives and walk away and pretend I dont know anything about it, this tactic worked for the cooker and car so it will work for the printer :p
