Just to state the obvious... the IS inks do need time to work through and effectively flush out any pre-existing OEM inks from the cartridges before you want to think about profiling.

I'm pretty sure I'm on a "teaching grandma to suck eggs" kick here but worth noting for those who might need the reminder.

So, I use the right profile with the right paper (I think). I use Octinkjet ink and to my judgement the photo's are a little greenish and I would like to tweak it a little.

From you earlier message #4 I understood that it might be possible to change the profiles that are already in the list? Maybe I misunderstood?
The profiles are only "right" for Canon ink on the paper that you select. With third-party inks, if you're getting a colour cast then none of the Canon profiles will correct it because they are all for Canon ink.

And, no, you cannot change the profiles in Photoshop. All you can do in Photoshop is fiddle with the colour balance to try to get closer to accurate colour. The trouble is that you may find different tones need different colour "correction" so make sure you have plenty of time, plenty of paper, and a big bin if you intend to go this route.

....or just have a custom profile made by one of the many companies offering this service. It's quicker, much more likely to work than trying to do it by trial and error, and much cheaper in the long run.
Yes this is a possibility, but I am not sure where to find this service in France.
It is a little bit surprising that the ink manufacturers (or distributors ?) do not offer replacement profiles for the OEM papers, or at least the most commonly used ones. They certainly have everything that is needed to do that the most accurate way.

Thank you. It never hurts to remind the basics. The cartridges are now half-full (one week usage). I am not sure this is enough.
I think that If I decide to order a specific profile, I will wait for the second refill batch.

Since remote profiling is done by post and e-mail you could use a service anywhere in the world. There are plenty of people offering this in the UK - only takes a couple of days to get the targets there from France.

Some suppliers of third-party inks do offer "generic" profiles but I suspect that most users of third-party inks are also using third-party papers, so the number of printer/ink/paper combinations becomes unmanageable. I also suspect that many users of third-party inks are not too concerned about accurate colour, and those that are will either make their own profiles or use a profiling service.

Isn't it an option to flush the cartridges before your next refill?
