How To Do PF/EJ Smap/Eject Adjustment on Epson 1430 / 1500W

I am having difficulty understanding how to do the PF/EJ Smap/Eject adjustment on my Epson 1500W (Same as the 1430 USA version). The manual says to print the pattern and choose the best numbered pattern and input into the Eprom. But there is no explanation as to what the best pattern should look like. Please see the attached scans.

Your advice would be appreciated.
