canon pixma pro9000 mark II
I have a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II, and while I love how great the photos turn out, I've been printing about 500 pages at a time (full color, double sided 8.5x11). It's been absolutely killing my wallet having to replace the expensive cartridges so much. Can anyone recommend me a high volume printer that still retains the great photo quality the Pro9000 has but a much better yield?

Buy yourself some refillables and use third party ink.

Otherwise, if you must use OEM ink, I believe you'd get the best yield with a 3880 or R3000 from Epson (and even better if you use a larger format printer, 7900 etc, but these are way more expensive).
If printing 500x2 pages, you'll need around 1000ml of ink. 3880 cartridges sell for around 40Eur for 80ml, so it'll cost you 500Eur to print them with the 3880, or 800 with an R3000, and 350 with a 7900.
9000 cartridges sell for around 10-15, contain 13ml of ink, so using a 9000 will cost you more than those above.
On the other hand, you can get a cheap P50 for instance, use it with OCP pigment inks and be looking at a cost of about 30Eur...

The simplest answer to your very expensive habit is to just refill your existing cartridges
with good quality ink and save at least 75% on your ink costs.

Try http://www.precisioncolors.com/C8B.html and you will never buy another OEM cartridge again.:thumbsup

Use a CIS with that high volume of printing. A CIS works best with an Epson printer, choose one of the printers Costadinos mentioned.
