Hi all,

I am a passionate photographer, highly appreciating photo's perfectly printed. That's why I am already many years printing on the Canon Pro-1 printer.
In my professional life, my daily activities are focussed on the sales of industrial 3D metal printers.

Feel free to contact me on for any question on photography workflow, printing and my professional activities.

Welcome to the forum, Harry. You are sure to make a few acquaintances here with your interests. For instance, our Moderator has a great interest in 3D printing. We have seen 3D printing with concrete but I don't recall with metal, so post a video if you have one to share.

Thanks, will be happy to do so.

Just as a short introduction, there are several technologies allowing to print metal parts. Some technologies are a single production stage, realizing metal parts which are at full strength, others use a two stage process where the printed metal gets its final strngth with a heat treatment proces.
My company design and builds powderbed laser fusion systems, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jADbBrf8Ko0
for industrial applications. In this youtube movie the concept is shown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K30kLiW8EUs

Actually 3D printed metal parts are used in many applications in aerospace, automotive and healthcare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da5IsmZZ-tw
Just get in touch with me if you want to know more.

Can these printed parts duplicate (or exceed) the mechanical properties of, say, a FORGED crankshaft??

"Recon" is not a comforting word.

Mechanical/material properties (tensile/yield/elongation/hardness/fatigue strength/toughness) are important, or you have a crankshaft that barely gets you around the block...

True, but "reckon" may be comforting to those in our southern states. :hugs

The Hat got his American slang correct. Must have been watching old cowboy movies. :thumbsup
