I'm a retired old guy, that does a lot of printing...mostly making laminated wallet cards for self-help groups.
Currently I use 3 Epsons, a 2400, a 1400 and a 3520, all with CIS installed. The 2400 currently uses enhanced Lyson Cave Paint but will be converting over to OCP (with VM). The 1400 uses Lyson Fotonic dye but will be converted to cheaper dye soon. The 3520 is fitted with Image Specialist ink because I only print on matte with that one.
I have had at least 5 other Epsons all with CIS. I own a Spyder3print and Colorminki and use ArgyllCMS for profiles. I rarely use the Epson Drivers because I am pretty good configuring the Gutenprint driver....actually WinGP which is a Windows compile of Gutenprint with an export plugin for Photoshop. The compile was done by some very clever Russian guys and it is amazing!
On my wish list for printers would be a 17" Epson that I could rebuild.
And as far as my handle is concerned, it's been 7 years and I am very active in the local A.A.
I've learned a lot from some of the members here and hope I can add to the conversation.
