That is an interesting description of day to day life, in Wyoming. Having visited some years ago I can understand it completely, but it would not work in this densely populated environment in the UK!

Government and local government take control.

Not the VAT is the real problem. The real problem is the handling fee of the postal services for the custom duties. It can be as high as € 30.-. This cost is added to the VAT and import taxes. This is the real killer.

When it comes down to it, our Customs and VAT don’t seem that bad overall, but charges are excessive when your package comes by courier, for instance, an item costing $5 + Courier cost $30 = $35 add the handling charge + VAT $10 total cost $50.

But the same item coming in by Post incurs no Vat or Custom charges and remains at $5, and is still scanned for free, but only if the item cost is less than $20, and our “An Post” are dreadfully slow and need to handle the packages a lot faster, 4 week delay on average...

BUT, I can own all the firearms I want, and pot is legal only 13 miles to the south!
I'd bet dollars to doughnuts you and your neighbors like their way of life, lesser services and all. That does suck about internet service!

The slippery slope is the very same tax and spend locusts that move away from the urban and inner ring suburban areas because of high costs, crime, and perceived/real reductions of services for the money taxed then move to outer ring suburbs and rural areas and bring their tax and spend progressiveness and proceed to destroy gentrify their new ecosystems from within.

I gather you are south of Laramie. Is there a pot store just over the border into Colorado like the liquor, tobacco and pharmacy stores are over the border into Mexico? Would be a perfect set up for Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Pot "dispensaries" are not right across the border. You gotta go to Fort Collins for that...

EU regulations until €22 no VAT or custom duties, €22-150 only VAT, above also duties.

That's why I order only one or 2 small bottles at the time.
Small package, by post, no tracking or insurance.
Even when the value is slightly above €22 until now it passes in Belgium without additional costs or handling charges.
Total time about 10 days.

Same as small packages from China. Never lost one.
Keep fingers crossed.

Already a pot dispensary in the 70's. Colorado State University, Kodak, stockyards and slaughterhouses. When the winds shifted the smell was inescapable.

Heck, the pot's cheaper on UW's campus anyway, so the WHP doesn't catch much on the way up from Colorado. The "legal stuff" does come "nicely packaged", though...

When I was in Laramie, it was legal to drive with an open container. Crazy. The drinking age was 19 years. That was a helluva birthday. ;)
