Epson Artisan 810 Print head problem.

In my case it turned out it was a leak in the line, so there was always air going inside causing the bad nozzle check.

Is the tank level with the head? I moved on to a WorkForce 845 and had an issue with the nozzle-check on a new CISS kit, turns out I had to place the tank to be the same height as the head, as soon as I did that everything is perfect.

I actually have it much higher to ensure no air in lines, but let me try it at level.

Where was the location of the leak? Did you see air in the tubes that go to print head? Mine seem primed with black and no air.

I wonder if I have some contamination and bad ink for black in the CISS. I was thinking of removing it all and putting in cleaning solution and running that thru the damper and lines and then adding back the black ink. Does this sound like something worth trying?

Continuous ink supply systems are nothing more than a large ink cartridge.If you have ink in the the cartridge it has done its job...

In the rare instance that the air breather caps are on the tanks or the tank is to low or the ink tubes are constricted...then the ciss will fail to deliver ink.

We discontinued the Piano Book several years ago for most models, if the Piano Book is not laid on its back to fill, air would accumulate in the back tank....See FAQ LJHEnt.com

First note your ink levels, then lay your Piano Book on its back, then bring Piano Book to the
upright position, do this a few times, did the level change?

If your cartridges have ink in them, move on to printer repair.....

Also do not mix ink from other manufactures, this could have an adverse effect..

I love my 1430, great 13 x 19 photos...stop using my R2880 and 2200 in favor of the 1430..

Thanks Leonard, I actually have the Deluxe CISS. I did remove the breather caps since the deluxe has a cover and no dust would enter the unit as you advised.

I have never mixed ink and always used your brand.

I just love that this unit was perfectly designed for CISS and prints so great, I hate to throw in the towel on it.

I know what you mean, I have a HP 7600, real work horse of a printer...30k+ prints

I am sad to say.... off to the electronic recycler..

Print heads are more than a new printer

I replaced our Artisans with WF 4630 big refillable cartridges(invoice/label printing) and a 1430 for cd and 13x19 photos, two printers to improve on what one Artisan did...

UPDATE: after 3 head cleanings its printing a good nozzle check. But it had done this before, so hopefully I will continue to use printer all week and daily check the nozzle pattern. Hopefully this sticks and hopefully does not go back to blocked the very next day on black.

The leak was at the base of the tank where the ink enters the tubes. I didn't see any air in the tubes, which confused me, but because there was no seal, it never flowed correctly and the nozzle check always failed.

Did you buy the tank from us "LJH" I will replace it at no charge...

Our tanks are repairable, tank comes out from case and seals/elbows and tubing can be replaced

Hi Leonard, unfortunately I didn't, was from some vendor on Amazon. I'm good now with a refurb WF845 and another CISS I bought from Amazon. Next time i'll consider buying from you
