Epson 106 vs. 114 ink fading performance

Which printer is using the T555 inks - Epson is using different numbers in different business regions like Europe - South America etc

Epson does not make it easy for the consumer, the L8160/80 are listed in Eastern Europe (only), and come there with 115 inks as well specified as Claria ET inks in the description, the same as the 114 ink of the ET-8550 in Western Europe, but the problems start here - the L8180 is sold as well in India, but there accompanied by the T673 inks which are shipped with the L805 and L1800 (in Eastern Europe) , and longevity of this ink is lower than the 114 ink. So I cannot tell you anything about the T555 ink you refer to - it could be either one of those or another type.

I live in Brazil, I checked it here and it is written claria ET on the packaging

O.k., thanks - you cleared the confusion, that's the same Claria ET ink as used in Europe so my comments would be valid. Don't go for 3rd party substitutes.

Epson has announced the ET-8500/8550 tank system printers recently - for Europe - I'm not familiar with the situation in Epson's other business regions - a printer with 6 colors - the 5 colors like in the ET-7750 - C M Y + photo and matte blacks, and with a gray ink on top. The ink set got a different number - 114 vs. 106 , so it's apparently not the 106 inks + a 106 gray. I posted some gamut variances already here in this thread

The 114 and 106 inks appear to be different inks in this plot which triggered me to start a fading test a few days ago - the 114 and the 106 inks run under the same conditions to see which of these inks last longer - or are equivalent at the end - who would know if they could last 100+ years in an album...............the weather and the sun will do most of the job.

Hi How are you ? thank you for your advice about using epson 114 inks in my epson L360. The country I stay in at the moment does not have Epson 114 inks. Are there any other similar archivial claria inks I can use in the L360

Yes, the Epson 552 ink belongs into the Claria ink family and is used with the ET-8500/8550, this ink is the same as the 114 ink , it's just the Epson numbering scheme by business region to create this additional irritation.

I guess it's 555, not 552.

That's a really long awaited answer I get at last. I could have paid a ripoff price for 512 ink or wait for someone to bring it for me from the US, but after reading this, I found out T555 is available locally at a reasonable price.

The driver I use provides the option to use a 6 ink printer as a regular 4 ink printer. If the quality difference became noticeable, the formula for making light inks has been provided here, so I guess I'm covered thanks to this forum and its great users.

Can i ask, If Genuine epson 114 ink isnt available which other Genuine Epson ink would be suitable to use in the ET-8550 as a substitute ink ?
