Canon PRO-100 or PRO-100s Waste Ink Pads full?

Has anyone with either of of these printers reached the point of full waste ink pads/diapers?

No, and I've had my Pro -100 since September 2013 and put close to 4 or 5 thousand sheets through it and most were borderless!

Can only provide anecdotal evidence on this but I have had 3 queries from Pro-100/100S owners asking about waste kits for the Pro-100. My advice, FWIW, has been to get one of the many carcass only brand new units on eBay. Not so easy in the EU but still cheaper to import that getting a service done.

I bought in a wrecked Pro-100 to take apart when I get some time so I can add to the Printer Potty info for Canons... but time is something of a rarity so not sure when I'll get the chance to do it.

I will say, I’m a happy Printer Potty customer and use them on my Canon printers, but if you can’t get into Service Mode to disable the waste counter then, a Printer Potty is a waste of money for most.

But there is another advantage of having a Potty waste tank fitted, you can monitor all your waste ink and know for sure when the printer does any unplanned or scheduled cleaning cycle, that could save some money...

Agreed... I need to get caught up on the service mode shenanigans as that's a whole other topic which as you say, limits everything.

FWIW, all of the guides for fitting external tanks to Canon printers have been going up as publicly accessible as they're predominantly community/user led and frankly quite complex.

It’s not something for the fainthearted, but once the top cover is off, you generally have free access to the purge unit and the waste tubing, and no it wont break or stop the printer from working.
The idea is to divert the outlet tubing to the outside of the printer and not to gain access to the waste pads themselves...
P.S. Caveat: - This action does invalid the guarantee, but I have never once availed of any warrantee in all the years I’ve owned a printer..

It is... There's a couple of guides for an iP4500 and the Pro-1 courtesy of folk like @The Hat among others and it shows you just how difficult it is to access the waste tubes on these things.

I've replaced waste ink pads on my I960 and my MP730. It's like, one step beyond accessing the waste pump discharge tubing. Quite possible, but very tricky. Lot's of room for error...
