In HiFi, there is a term "colored sound" actually. Obviously it is not as is the term called neutral. Same for prints when they have a color cast. The reality is that all sounds are colored by the recording engineer's preference, equipment used and what is heard through the monitoring process and nothing is actually neutral when all is said and done. We do the same when editing photos.

There is the snake oil scene, then there is the high quality realistic view and then there is the mass market stuff. Just for example there are multiple forms of data transmission via USB. Not all of them perform error checking! Huh!!!!! Yep. Guess which one is used for audio transmission. And you thought the bits are bits and will always be the same. Bits is one thing. Did you get ALL the bits? Where they stand with respect to time is another.

Now you know better. Isochronous . Now when you hear that some hear the differences and some don't , don't laugh too fast about those that do because digital is digital. . or is it?

For those trying to understand. It is like comparing the best print output and then using copy paper to determine the best printer. Then claiming that they all print the same. .... I went through high school reading Stereo Review magazine ( Mass market consumer oriented) and it was not decade + later I found that the information touted there was very incorrect.

For clarification's sake, printing uses the Bulk Transfer mode. If data is missing, as is allowed by the Isosynchronous Transfer method, then so will be missing part(s) of your print.

Not sure how the cable will "color" the result of a bulk transfer of print data where the idea is maintaining the integrity of the data in its entirety, unless you mean speed of transfer is the "color". :idunno

To hear the differences in cables you really need high end stereo gear to reveal the differences as they can be subtle but important to an enthusiast. I have a lower end of high end stereo gear & when it was newish I was borrowing speaker cables from a HI Fi shop to try out I was surprised that I did hear a difference. Now there is a placebo effect that when you buy something that is supposed to improve the sound you tend to think the that object has improved the sound a bit but our friends who visit us loved the sound of my Hi Fi system & after I was trying out some speaker cables made with silver wire which to me did seem to give more details but when our friends came for a visit they asked why the HI Fi sounded too bright as though it had lost the slight nice warmth it had & they had no interest in the Hi Fi world or knew I had changed the cables.
For days after that I concluded that what I was saying was more detail was indeed a brighter sound so I ended up buying the warmer cables & have lived happily ever after. My friends also commented on the better sound when they visited after I replaced the silver cables without knowing I had changed the cables, so that was a good blind test in a way a.
PS The silver cables were way more expensive than the copper cables I bought.

It is with the same passion for sound gear, since all my equipment and cables are from the ground up DIY or highly modified (except for speakers and turntable) that I pursued the line of Signature Edition inks I now offer. The amount of effort and work in pushing towards perfection and the endless quest of trying to achieve beyond normally accepted commercial standards.

This discussion takes me back the snake oil sales of Monster Cables years ago.

I have my doubts that the vast majority of self=proclaimed audiophiles would recognize a difference in sound from speaker wire beyond a certain construction, material, and $$$ point, in a double-blinded study, all other components being equal, and that that point is far less in $$$ than they claim it to be when price is not known.

Subjectivity gets a little harder when you don't know how much it costs or read the sales pitch.

Favorite quote from the link below:

4. Acoustics acoustics acoustics. If you have a decent amplifier, TV and speakers the most important thing you can do is to have good acoustics. This includes speaker placement, room acoustics, listening position etc. Changing the toe-in of a speaker can make a much bigger difference than a $300 per foot speaker wire. It is also a heck of a lot cheaper.

Monster cables were low end so you wouldn't put them on a decent system. Acoustics have far more effect on sound than cables, if I don't have my speakers well out from the wall behind the sound can be very thin. Also tone controls have a detrimental effect. You won't find tone controls on high end gear.

Good Day All, I am seeing something VERY odd with the print speed throughput my 2 Pro-100's. Both have the same FW, same driver and same print job, yet the printer that is newer prints almost twice as fast as my 2 year old Pro-100. Was there a change to the mechanical or logic to cause this?

Thanks!
Just to be sure, are ALL the driver setting identical?

Monster cables were low end
They were hyped and a ripoff. The audio industry is filled with hype. That was one of my points.

Another reason might be hardware modifications done in newer models. This is very popular in computer motherboards (especially noticed with Gigabyte boards) where the initial motherboard release would be 'rev 1.0' and later on they will have 'rev 1.2' or 'rev 1.3', so even though they might look different they will work a little different. The driver set might be different between the hardware revisions though, but it could be that Canon provides a single driver that supports all hardware revisions.
i also think that a better comparison would be connection via ethernet using the same switch (or directly to router), USB can behave differently via various machines and even various ports on the same machine.
