Canon is bringing new printers to the German market - with tanks - with 6 colors - CMY - photo black - gray - red for the A4 format,
The models are the G550 - printer only and the G650 with scanner

https://www.druckerchannel.de/artikel.php?ID=4400&t=canon_pixma_g650_und_g550

The inks are dye Chromalife 100 GI-53 bottled inks in 60 ml bottles.

These printers compete to a degree with the Epson XP-15000 which is a printer with the same color inkset but for the A3 format.

This is the first time that the very cood Chromalife dye inks are becoming available as bottled inks at a much lower pricing than inks in cartridges for the other photo printer models.
The printers come with replaceable heads and a user replaceable maintenance tank.

The ink bottles are interesting: I have a clear ink formula, so I can make Light versions of the cyan, magenta and grey to used in a P800 or similar K3 printer and have high gloss printing with dye ink. Sooner or later Canon will introduce a A3+ version of this printer.

Many buyers probably never will recoup the much higher purchase price.

I wonder how they will handle the purchasing of bottles to refill conventional printers. They must have thought about it.

I think they could use some chemical tricks like the one causing the "Yello Gello" see this post, Maybe this trick was also used with bottled Canon pigment ink. See this and this post. So I think these tricks could also be used on the bottled inks for the new Maxify ink tank printers.

Thanks for the warning.
I will test on my first Maxify, now mothballed and with a not so good printhead.
And flush the carts with alcohol i.o. water.

which of these dye inks have the greatest fade resistance ? The price of these inks are very reasonable. For about €14.50/70 ml I can refill my Epson P800 per cartridge. The light colours are even cheaper, when I dilute the ink down 3x with a clear ink base.

Maybe I am planning to turn my second Epson P800 into a dye based printer by mixing a few drops of my pigment ink with the dye ink and see if it can be safely flushed inside my print head or I have to flush first with a cleaning solution before installing the dye ink cartridges.

The Epson 106 inks for the ET7550 give you a very good fading resistance, the new 114 Claria inks for the ET8550 are brand new and not tested yet but I would expect a very similar performance, same for the new Canon GI-53 Chromalife inks for the G550/650 printers, these all are the best OEM inks on the market.
