When people here talk about flushing, is for cartridges without printhead.
For your situation flushing is a bit more difficult.
From my experience:
1. You can fill the (empty) cartridge with cleaning solution then draw it back. Discard and repeat with needle in different place until you are satisfied.
2. If you have a refill clip, do as above but draw, very slow, through the refill clip.
3. And if you feel really lucky, you can pop off the top of cartridge, take out the sponge and wash it with cleaning solution. I advice against this as can easily damage the printhead.
