My Canon iP4300 has been very satisfactory over the past few years but has now started to print some colours incorrectly (e.g. blues are printing as pink and greens are printing as yellow). I have tried every which way to correct this but the problem continues. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Blue is printed by printing cyan plus magenta dots, and green is printed by printing cyan plus yellow dots. If cyan is not printing, you will get pink (magenta) and yellow instead of blue and green.

So I think there is a problem with either the cyan cartridge or the cyan nozzles in the printhead. If you have another cyan cartridge, you could try if that one prints better. I guess you have tried a printhead cleaning from the printer maintenance already?

There is a 24 hour quarantine period before new members can upload pictures and post links, so could you post a scan of a nozzle check tomorrow? My guess is that one or both cyan bands are missing from the nozzle check.

Instructions for uploading and posting images are here: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=36

PeterBJ,

Many thanks for your prompt and helpful advice. I have also followed the advice of a neighbour to do a "deep "clean" and all appears to be now back to normal - great stuff!
