Someone living in the same town is selling a Canon 9500 MK II really cheap and I would like to give it a new home. I currently have the Canon Pro 10 that I'm very happy with (along with a Pro 1 and Pro 100) and the "Wife Acceptance Factor" for this new printer would be very low at this time. Would I gain anything in adding this to my stable?

To complete your Canon collection, why not ?
But you'll need another resetter and the ink set is not the same as the PRO-10 either (although you probably can use some colours).
Add this to your purchase price (and your wife's argumentation).

Looks like I'll be cleaning up the office tonight... maybe I can slip it in. ;)

Maybe this could be a great Christmas gift from the wife.

Well... I did it. I got the 9500 Mark II. It came with a full set in the printer (well almost full) and an extra full set of OEM carts along with a few stray full carts. It was a nice exchange, they kept all the "extras" like the setup cd and manual so this really helped getting it up and running. However, they wanted to meet at a local place (bought this off craigslist) so I couldn't test it out. They said that they haven't used it in awhile, so when I got it home, I immediately soaked the print head to clean it up.

Having an issue with getting a good nozzle check. Notice on the "C" channel that it looks like the top 20% is missing. I ran 2 cleaning cycles and 1 deep cleaning cycle so far.

I ran an ink quality maintenance followed by a nozzle check and things are looking much better today. :)

What is with the "GY" 2 bars? It looks to have a green tint?

Not too bad !

These green lines is a lateral displacement.
Could signal electrical disfunction.
