One last thing. I'm assuming I should apply this preshift (BLUE channel only) to each page of the target set, yes?

Hi Tony,

yes, but the second one does not has a significant effect, but you can do so safely.

Could you report back how the result is, because I am curious how it will effect the result ?

No I have done this more than a dozen times, but I want to know if this works for you too. Since you have a dye printer, the ink will dry much faster, so in a hour time you can already read the patches to produce the target.

Of course I was kidding. I don't know about that hour thing. I did a spectro read of a print after an hour or so and then 24 hours later. The numbers were not the same, so I decided that it would be best to wait a day before reading.

-Open your target file in Photoshop or equivalent program (I presume you use the "High Quality Target Plus Grays 1 of 2.tif").
When I open the target in Photoshop, should I "Don't Color Manage" or "Convert to Working Space (Adobe RGB)"?

That's what I figured, but wanted to be sure. Thanks. Targets are printing now. I'll let you know what happens.

Let me just add that these color targets never have an assigned color space - they are just a series of raw color numbers to send to the printer. You may have your default Photoshop color management set to automatically convert all images to your working color space and to not ask before making the change (the "Missing Profiles" box is unchecked). Make sure that you first set your Color management policy for RGB files to "Off" before opening these files to make sure that you don't add an unwanted color space to the image (be sure to turn it back on when you are done). This may seem strange, but remember that these files are not meant to be edited.

I know this option, but the hue editing is essential for the Spyder3print to get good and deep blues without the purplish hue known with this package. Somehow Spyder3print produces a purplish hue in dark and saturated blues, which is very annoying. It had been described/mentioned in the past at several printer/photography fora.
