I purchased a used Artisan 800, and it had a full waste pad warning. So I purchased a waste ink tank from OctoInkjet and successfully reset the waste ink counters. Upon removing the waste pads as part of the tank installation, they were indeed saturated completely! I use non-OEM refillables with dye ink.

Well, you get to actually SEE the waste ink being ejected with the transparent tank, and WOW, IT EJECTS A LOT!! Probably 3-5 ML with each clean! Any way of "turning waste down" that anyone knows of??

Couple of things.

Leave the printer on - on standby as they use ink when switched on.

If you use third party inks, look for ones with the largest capacity as they use ink when you change cartridges.

According to WIC read ink counters, one head clean increased the count by 3.7%

Borderless prints produce more waste ink

Does the Artisan 800 have auto head clean like the PX800FW if so, you could try running it with that turned off

Wow! Does that imply you only get 29 or so head cleanings before a WASTE INK FULL warning? If so, that OUTRAGEOUS!!

If you have WIC check the counters before and after you next need to do a head clean

I used the Epson reset but it only set the counters to 40%

ipr.ebz.epson.net/ipr/maintenance.do

Only worked once as well, said it worked the second time but after a couple of prints it would not print due to waste ink error

Now have another Epson reset which sets the counters to zero and can be done whenever, unlike the other one which can only be done when the counters are at 100%

Replied to your e-mail

If anyone wants a resetter for the 700 - 800 series (PX TX Artisan) let me know and I will send it to you direct rather than post it here and annoy Epson into asking for it to be removed etc.

I have a 725. I could surely use it as well.
Thank you!

Santer: I was not able to reset my Artisan 725 though it can find it in the search when it comes time to read the counts it shows a communication error.
It is connected Via USB I chose the USB-artisan 725 choice but still will not work.
Is it becuase it is not a UK / Europe version printer?

The WIC reset tool sees it and reads the counters perfectly. But as we all know the WIC requires a KEY for money.
It;s not a matter of life or death yet so not worries.

I have all the Adjustment Programs for all of my printers listed in my sig, except the Canons and the 3800s of course.
Thanks anyway. It's too bad it doesn't want to communicate with the printer.

No, but you could recycle it as asphalt driveway sealer.
